One of the most compelling reads of my week was this odd tale from the New York Times about a compulsion unlike any you’ve heard of before.

Mental illness can affect anyone and can take many forms. There are no easy solutions. Balancing protecting the safety and wellbeing of others with compassion for the afflicted is one of society’s great challenges.
