What's going on under London?

This short video from Vox reports on a phenomenon I’d not heard about but, as a central London resident, is apparently happening all around me.

The wealthy residents of this city are expanding their properties like crazy. Of course, there’s nothing unusual about that, but what’s unique here is the direction in which they’re building.
